WELCOME!
Welcome to Fine Rugs and Antiques! We are pleased to share our selection of fine handmade antique oriental rugs, new handmade rugs and other antique items with you. Each rug has been carefully selected for quality, color, design and usability in your home by experts with over 40 years experience in oriental rugs.
Whether you are beginning to decorate a new home or redecorating we always suggest purchasing your oriental rug first. It is always much easier to match paint, fabric and furnishings to the carpet. Matching the rug to already determined furnishings can be quite a challenge. Rooms with a neutral pallet are easiest, but don't let that stop you from adding accent rugs to your decor. We offer a selection of soft toned rugs that blend well in almost any decor! Mix them up. Serapi with Caucasian, jewel toned with soft looks that transition from one area of the home to another.
Check back often as we have many, many more rugs and antiques to add to our site. Don't forget to contact us if you have any questions or you are looking for a specific item. We may have it but it hasn't been added here yet.
ALL RUGS ARE 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED

1. Vacuum the rug along side the fringe rather than towards it. This will prevent the fringe from becoming damaged or torn.
2. Turn your rugs periodically. This will help promote even wear and longer enjoyment. You will even be able to give the room a new look as all handmade rugs have a light and dark side. This comes from the way the rug is made and reflects light.
3. Proper padding is a valuable asset. Dual sided padding with fiber on the top and nonskid material on the bottom prevents slippage and allows the rug to breathe.
4. Strong afternoon summer sunlight can fade your rug. While most rugs age beautifully under normal conditions, strong light can cause areas to soften too fast. Filtered light in the room is recommended.
5. Have your rug professionally cleaned about every 3 years. Adjust the frequency based on your own personal use. Even with regular vacuuming dirt can get trapped deep in the rug causing an abrasive effect to the fibers. Cleaning will add years to its beauty.
