Lincoln is depicted in the second floor bedroom of the David Wills house moments before he gave his Gettysburg Address. It is said this is where he wrote his famous speech. You can see the square through the window with the procession formed to escort him through town with speech notes in hand.

David Craig is a highly acclaimed illustrator with an emphasis on history. He is noted for his strong attention to detail and accuracy in the historical subjects he portrays.

In 2000 David was awarded the Golden Cylinder Award for his illustrations used in products celebrating the millenium.


In 2003 the first James Madison Award was presented to him for his part in the highly acclaimed children's book "First to Fly" " How Wilbur and Orville Wright Invented the Airplaine". The award was given at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum where Lynne Chaney, wife of Vice President Dick Chaney presided.
